Intense Pulsed Light

Pulsed light incorporates wavelengths of light much like laser does but with the many various configurations possible there are a wider array of applications. IPL uses numerous wavelengths of light to target key tissues while avoiding damage to surrounding areas. Our laser technology incorporates headpiece cooling which acts as a form of anesthetic, cooling your skin as you receive your treatment. This ensures a comfortable experience for you. Contact us directly to find out more about what laser can do for you.

Overview

IPL can be used for photo-facials, bringing new life to dull and aging skin. IPL can reduce hyperpigmentation, blasting away annoying age spots and evening out skin tone. Vascular lesions of the face are safest treated with IPL. Pulsed light can be used for acne clearance and maintenance.

Sun Exposure and Self Tanner

Sun protection is crucial before and after IPL treatments. Any client arriving for an IPL treatment with any degree of sun burn will be rescheduled. Sun exposure should be limited and quality sun protection should be used 4-6 weeks before and after any IPL or Laser treatment.

Light based therapies depend on the distinguishing the natural pigments of your skin and the target (hair follicle, pigmented or vascular lesion, etc). Self tanner skews the natural color or pigment of your skin, inhibiting the process. Self tanner or spray tans should be avoided 4-6 weeks prior to IPL or Laser treatment.

Photosensitive Medications and Creams

Citrus Essential Oils. Oils taken from the rind of Orange, Lemon, Mandarin, Lime, and Bergamot are highly photo-sensitizing. These oils should not be applied topically to the treatment area at least 3 days prior to any IPL or Laser treatment.

St John's Wort, Accutane, Prescribed Retin-A. Clients using these products must discontinue use for 1-6 months prior to any IPL or Laser treatment. Over the counter products containing lower doses of retinol should be discontinued for one week prior to treatment.

Doxycycline, Tetracycline, and Minomycin. These medications cause the skin to become highly photo-sensitive and more apt to burn. Use of these medications should be completed or discontinued for at least 3 days prior to any IPL or Laser treatment.

Client Testimonial

“I look forward to my treatments with Jillian. She makes me feel comfortable and relaxed, and she always offers me coffee or water. I’ve had procedures done before at other offices, but I felt like just another number or check mark on their to-do list. Jillian and Umair take their time, they get to know you and really seem to care about what brought you in. Their bed side manner and treatment results will keep me coming back for years to come.”
