Neurotoxins = Anti-Wrinkle INjections
Botox Cosmetic is arguably the most well known brand of botulinum toxin A because it was the first neurotoxin to be used to treat facial wrinkles. Newer brands like, Xeomin and Jeuveau utilize the same botulinum toxin A and deliver the same results. Neurotoxins (Botox Cosmetic, Xeomin, and Jeuveau) work by temparaily paralyzing the injected muscle and therefore smoothing the overlaying skin.
The most common use for Botox Cosmetic, Xeomin and Jeuveau, is to reduce the appearance dynamic wrinkles, but neurotoxins can help treat other conditions too, such as: severe sweating, chronic migraines, overactive bladder, uncontrolled blinking, and more.
Botox Cosmetic, Xeomin, and Jeuveau are most often used on forehead lines, crow's feet (lines around the eyes), and frown lines (between the eyes). Neurotoxins won’t treat wrinkles caused by sun damage or skin laxity.
How Is the procedure Done?
Getting anti-wrinkle injections only takes a few minutes. You won’t need anesthesia or numbing cream. The provider uses a small needle to inject the neurotoxin into specific muscles with only minor discomfort.
