PDO Threads

PDO Threads (polydioxanone)
The uses of PDO threads are a vast as your imagination. Around the world PDO threads are used as an alternative to cosmetic surgery to lift and support sagging skin. At Lift Medical, our focus is on the neck and face. PDO, which stands for polydioxanone, are flexible, absorbable sutures. These sutures or threads are placed under the skin, lifting effects are seen immediately, however, the full results are seen within 4-6 weeks. The PDO threads prompt the body to build more collagen along the thread and tighten the skin. Within weeks, the PDO thread is fully absorbed. No product remains, just your natural rejuvenative factors. Results last 18-24 months. Maintenance sessions will prolong results of more aggressive lifts.
A medical consult is conducted prior to any procedure at Lift Medical. During your consultation it is important to discuss your medical and medication history. At this time, our medical providers will measure the treatment area and take before photos. Your aesthetic nurse will also educate you on pre procedure care. Local anesthetic and topical numbing is administered for larger thread lifts. The discomfort for smaller threads is minimal and no anesthetic is necessary. There is always the possibility of bruising and tenderness in the treatment area.
PDO thread lifts can be a stand alone treatment or in conjunction with other modalities for a truly transformative result.
